                Featured SWBA Member Band: Bluegrass Brethren Gospel Band

 

Bluegrass Brethren presents a unique blend of gospel, hymns and traditional instrumentals to their listeners. Bluegrass Brethren's simple instrumental approach combined with heartfelt vocals and a fun loving stage presence make for an entertaining event. Best known for their own special brand of original gospel tunes rendered in a bluegrass music style, the group has delighted audiences of all ages since 1977. In 1980, their original composition "The Closet" became an instant hit among Bluegrass Brethren fans. It is, today, considered a classic. Their most recent album releases include "Complete" and the Hymns volume II: "Near the Cross". Their music has received national and international radio airplay.

Featuring SWBA Member Band, The Brombies, plus: Kenny & Amanda Smith, Larry Gillis Band (formely w/Gillis Brothers), Junior Sisk & Ramblers Choice, The Spinney Brothers, The Bluegrass Brothers, Spring Creek, Bound To Ride, Blue & Lonesome, Dalton Mountain Gang, Brothers Comatose A premier Northern California Festival in the heart of the Shenandoah Valley Wine Country in the beautiful Sierra Nevada foothills of the Gold Country. A premium line-up, an art's & craft vendors, music workshops, a classic car show , kids on stage, great food & beverage a return of our late night dance, emerging artists performance, kids activities. Amador County Fairgrounds offers limited electric for RV campers on its thirty-five acres. There are rolling green lawns, old oak trees and immaculately groomed grounds as well as some dirt / gravel. Southern California Bluegrass Associations Campout and Jam  - September 24 - 26, 2010

This event replaces the campout that, for many years, had been held at this time at Pioneer Town.  It now is held at the Antique Gas and Steam Engine Museum, 2040 N. Sante Fe Avenue, Vista, California, 92083. on the last weekend of September 2009. Arrival can be as early as Wed. Sept 22rd, with departure as late as on Monday Sept. 27th.  Camping is dry with limited water, bathroom facilities, a dump station, and limited electrical for Handicapped, needing to charge wheelchairs or breathing machines. Overnight camping is $10.00 per day, and day use is a $3.00 donation. All proceeds go to the museum, so camping checks will be made payable to the AG&SEM, and will be collected by George Finkle.  There will be a potluck dinner on Saturday at 5PM. Those who wish to provide dinner musical entertainment will be appreciated.  If possible (depending on the number of players present), on Saturday night at approx 10PM a selected group of Grinners will be out to judge the Best Jam. ARRIVAL: Try not to arrive between 2 and 3:30PM on weekdays, due to the school traffic.
